You have full control over your Dejavu English account and personal learning data. You can permanently delete
your account either instantly inside the Dejavu English mobile app or web app or by submitting a
web deletion request below (without needing to sign in or reinstall the app).
Option 1: Instant Account Deletion in the Mobile App or Web App
Sign in to Dejavu English on the Web App (dejavuenglish.com) or open the Dejavu English mobile app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device.
Go to Settings (profile/settings menu).
Scroll down to the bottom of Settings and select Delete Account (Delete My Account).
Review the subscription & permanent data deletion notice, enter your current account
password to confirm, and click/tap Permanently Delete Account.
Your account, tokens, and personal learning data are permanently erased immediately upon password
verification.
Important — Active Paid Subscriptions (Apple App Store & Google Play Store):
Deleting your Dejavu English account does NOT automatically cancel an active paid Pro
subscription billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. If you have an active paid Pro
subscription (non-trial), please manually cancel auto-renewal in
Apple App Store Subscriptions
(iOS) or
Google Play Subscriptions
(Android) at least 24 hours before your next renewal date.
Option 2: Request Account Deletion via the Web (Without Reinstalling the App)
If you have already uninstalled the Dejavu English mobile app, submit your registered email address below
(or email info@dejavuenglish.com
from your registered email address). After verifying ownership of the email address, we permanently delete
your account within 7 business days.
What Data Is Deleted vs. Retained
Permanently Deleted Data: Your user profile (name, email, hashed password, date of
birth, language preferences), saved vocabulary words, phrases, personal notes and attached mnemonic
links, grammar notebooks and lesson progress, spaced-repetition (SRS) history, Dejavu Reader text
archives, AI tool history (Sentence Fixer, Passage Analyser, Native Thinking), OAuth access tokens, and
registered push notification device tokens.
Anonymized / Legally Retained Records: De-identified system error logs (with any user
ID removed) and statutory financial/tax invoice records required by UK tax and accounting regulations
(retained only by payment processors Stripe, Apple, or Google Play for statutory compliance periods,
typically up to 7 years under UK HMRC rules).
